Did you know you could use completed items from your recipe books as ingredients in items you're creating? For example, you could use a soup base in your prep recipe book as an ingredient in your line recipe book.
To do this, you must set the yield on the item you wish to use as an ingredient. Go to that item in the Item Editor, enter a valid quantity, and click Set Yield. Then, go to the item you are creating and click Add Ingredient. In the Ingredient Editor, find the section that lets you add recipe book items and click the Click Here button. Find the item you wish to use as an ingredient, specify the quantity, and click the Add Ingredient button. The item will then be used as an ingredient in the item you are creating.
There is one important thing to remember about this feature. Any updates you make to the item used as an ingredient will not be reflected in the ingredient entry. If, for example, you create an item called Hamburger, and use it in an item called Cheeseburger, then later on you decide to change Hamburger, you must add the Hamburger entry to Cheeseburger again to reflect these changes.
